NYPA aims to improve the working and the business conditions of the New York City pedicab owners and pedicab drivers and create a better image of the NYC pedicab industry. 

Some of these missions include but are not limited to:

a. Keeping Central Park Safe, Clean and fun for its visitors,

b. Capping the legal rate of the pedicabs at rates similar to the legal rates of the horse carriages,

c. Getting better insurance rates,  

d. Getting the bike lanes legalized for pedicabs, 

e. Decreasing the fine amounts in the pedicab law, 

f.   Educate Pedicab drivers and owners about the laws and regulations in place and, more importantly, enforce them,

g. Obtaining more standing zones for pedicabs,

h.  Getting electric assist for pedicabs legalized,

NYPA aims to accomplish these missions by:

a. Engaging with the NYC Council to get the pedicab laws changed or amended. 

b. Engaging with the NYC Police Department, NYC Department of Consumer and Worker Protection, NYC Department of Parks and Recreations and NYC Department of Transportation to address the rules and the enforcement. 

c. Engaging with the Federal Courts, New York State Courts and the New York City Courts to address the enforcement and the adjudication of the pedicab cases. 

d. Engaging with the community boards and other stakeholders to create better public relations. 

e. Working specifically with Central Park Police and the Park Enforcement to make sure our drivers follow the laws and regulations of the Park and the city in general. Moreover, to stop illegal and unlicensed drivers to scam the visitors of the big Apple.
