The Unified Voice for NYC Pedicab Professionals

The New York Pedicab Alliance Inc. (NYPA) is the recognized domestic 501(c) non-profit organization, established to improve the working and business conditions of pedicab owners and drivers while creating a better public image for the entire industry. With over 220 members strong, every action we take is guided by our commitment to legal and professional excellence.

Current Campaigns: Driving Change

Fighting to Establish Fair, Capped Rates : We are actively lobbying the NYC Council to legally cap pedicab rates at levels similar to horse carriages , and negotiating better, lower insurance rates for our members .

SUPPORT OUR LEGISLATIVE PUSH!

.  Legalizing E-Assist & Bike Lanes : NYPA is engaging with the DOT and City Council to get electric assist legalized  and formally designate bike lanes for pedicab use to improve safety and efficiency.

EMAIL YOUR COUNCIL MEMBER!

.  Seeking Fair Fine Structures : We are addressing the adjudication of pedicab cases in New York City Courts to decrease excessive fine amounts, ensuring enforcement is fair and proportionate .

Our Strategy: Engaging All Stakeholders

NYC Council: To get pedicab laws changed or amended.

Regulatory Bodies (DCWP, NYPD, DOT): To address rules, safety, and enforcement.  NYC Courts: To address the enforcement and adjudication of pedicab cases. Community Boards: To create better public relations and foster understanding among local stakeholders.

Park Enforcement (Central Park Focus): Working specifically with Park Police to stop illegal operators and enforce compliance with Park regulations
